Child Safety & Self-Defense (K-5th Grade) 1-3pm
BUILDING YOUR SAFETY TOOLBOX
As a parent, we hope our children never face dangerous situations, but if they do we cannot rely on hope. We need to put tools in their toolbox that they can pull out when needed. Tools that help them make safe choices, tools that build their awareness, tools that build their confidence, tools on how to set boundaries, and the tools they will carry with them where they go.
Start building their safety toolbox today!
The Child Safety & Self-Defense course is designed for children in kindergarten through 5th grade and will provide your child with vital safety skills while building their belief in themselves.
In this fun and interactive course they will practice using their voices effectively, learning how to call for assistance loudly and clearly to attract attention and deter potential threats. They will practice using distance to avoid threats. They will learn how to deal with emergency situations including taking part in 911 practice drills. Kids participate in fun yet purposeful exercises where they will also learn physical techniques including basic strikes and anti-abduction techniques.
The kids will finish the course equipped with practical skills and confidence which empowers them to identify potential risks while remaining calm and taking decisive action.
